REGISTRATION

This year's GNSI Visual SciComm Conference is open to anyone with an interest in visual science communication, including GNSI members, non-members, illustrators, animators, science artists, researchers, writers, publishers, and more. The online format allows us to reduce costs dramatically from our normal conference fee, all while encouraging participation regardless of location.

Registration opens on July 11th and closes August 11, 2023.

Core Conference Registration: $95/member | $125/non-member*

The core includes live presentations, recorded demos, and a panel discussion from renowned science communicators. Members should have received an email from GNSI with the member discount code to enter where it says “use coupon” on the Crowdcast registration page.

ONLINE FORMAT
All live program sessions will be recorded and will be available for subsequent viewing by registrants at any time for a month after the conference via Crowdcast. Social events will be held on Remo, which allows for a greater degree of interactivity between participants and is a great substitute for the networking and mingling aspect we so enjoy at in-person conferences. We think you’ll enjoy both for the strengths they bring to online conferencing.

When you register with Crowdcast for the lectures, you will automatically be registered for the Remo events as well. 

Make sure your browsers are up-to-date and running the most current version of the software. Google Chrome is highly recommended for optimal performance, though we have had success with other browsers. If you experience trouble logging in that can’t be resolved with a browser update, Crowdcast's tech or Remo's tech help, please contact us HERE.

ACCESSIBILITY
For the best experience in Crowdcast and Remo, we recommend all our attendees use the Chrome browser. Chrome has the added benefit of providing live captioning for free. To turn on live captioning before our event, make sure you have the latest version of Chrome installed. Then go to Settings, choose the "Advanced" section, and turn on "Live Caption" in “Accessibility.”

A small number of grants are available for students, BIPOC, and people experiencing extreme hardship thanks to our GNSI Accessibility Grant Fund. Please email marlacoppolino (at) gmail.com for more information on how to apply.

Are you interested in sponsoring a conference attendee who wouldn't otherwise be able to attend? We are awarding a handful of small grants to a select number of people who fall into one of the following categories: students, BIPOC, and people experiencing extreme hardship. Every sponsorship you contribute allows us to include another attendee in need. All donations are fully tax-deductible.

Our Code of Conduct can be found here. Because of the nature of an online conference, please know that anything you type into the chat or ask in the Q & A sessions may be downloaded, archived, and kept indefinitely by the GNSI and may be visible to hosts, presenters, and other participants.
